Adam Parker Smith: “Sunset Now”

sunset now by adam parker smith

It’s cool that Adam Parker Smith was able to show on my campus, because after taking a look into his life, he has done a lot in his career. His “Lazer Wolf” show was really a good punctuation marking our split with graphic design. It was fun and totally different from what we were used to in Biggin. He has garnered alot of attention recently with his thriller inspired video that use his trademark muppet zombies. Now his recent work “Sunset Now”, has some elements that link it back to previous work (like the fiberfill), but it goes into a more austere aesthetic. “Sunset Now projects a sunset on a fiberglass circle, and a dimmer switch allows the viewer to controll the speed of the sun setting and rising. This work seems a lot less tongue-in-cheek than most of his work, but then again, there are fiberfill clouds on the floor.
